Then she ran for election in a place other than leftist CA and got laughed out of the contest.

She is an American success story. Mixed race female. Lawyer, then DA, eventually senator, then VP. As far as specific accomplishments as VP, it’s hard to ever really have any. Generally unlikeable, but no more so than many successful politicians. At this point she’ll do better than Biden with the Democrat base, and independents concerned about Biden’s competency. Despite a bunch of well publicized humorous word salads, she is generally a forceful speaker. I think her biggest weakness is her total failure as ‘the border czar’. But if she is the nominee fully supported by the Democrat machine she would have a great chance of beating Trump. Read terapined’s post. Like many, he is not voting for the person per se; he is voting for the overall Democrat platform. You think ams is analyzing the specifics of her thoughts on the minimum wage before he decides to vote for her or Trump? You think Geno cares about her ideas on trade with Mexico before deciding on her or Trump? You think AZ cares about her thoughts on Ukrainian aid before deciding on her or Trump?

Finally a post of yours I could actually stomach reading. Anyone following the Democrat platform on the border/illegal immigration/‘asylum’ would always fail, as the policy is a failure from the get go. I don’t think Biden intentionally/specifically set Harris up to fail.

I think many voters would just be happy to finally have a candidate under 60 who can speak in coherent sentences again.

Agreed.

That is also the one thing Trump did right by naming a young man as VP. Let's face it the majority of voters want someone that they can relate to and old men are hard to relate to.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

Failure is success for n this case.

Reality is it is all about the demographic implosion starting to hit. But instead of doing it orderly and proper the Democrat party wants illegals flowing in. Overwhelming cities. They get fed funds. Funds cause union jobs. Unions support Democrats.

Gotta go now as a black Econoline seems to be noticing me……

Well, I'm not an undecided general election voter this cycle. But I am in an non-incumbent primary. I carefully scrutinized the candidate's positions in the 2008 primary for example (originally voted for Bill Richardson).

I like Harris. And, logistically it would be easy, she would make sense because she is VP, which means she gets to keep all of the election funds and status from Biden (any other candidate off the street would have to start from scratch.)

If she can beat Trump who knows, he is winning in the polls against anyone (but he was in 2020 too, so who knows..... In fact I can't think of a time polls where an accurate predictor of a Presidential outcome in my adult life....) My guess is she has at least as good of a shot as Biden does, maybe better because Biden is certainly losing the confidence of some.

But, the big thing without going through her record, is the campaign money and logistics.

I mean she was a successful prosecutor (at a time and a place where it was really rough to be one,) she was a senator, and now she is Vice President. I am not sure how these qualifications are nothing-burger? I can't think of a better set of qualifications than senator and VP to be President? (I mean I get the argument that Governor time is good since that is more of an equivalent, but I don't agree that is the end all....)

There is an argument (that would probably be challenged, and is probably not worth testing with everything on the line,) that if a different candidate runs, and Harris runs as their VP, since she is on the ticket, they can take control of the campaign money and status, but this is a big unknown, the safe bet is for Harris to be on the ticket.
