Obviously we feel differently about the future of China. I expect a monumental collapse like we have never seen before. I would not be surprised that if in 10 years their GDP is less than 50% of what it is today.

I just don't see a collapse since China has weathered massive institutional changes such as the Great leap forward, cultural revolution and the 1 child policy

Look at the Chinese federal debt and their population demographic decline. There is no way for them to get out of this mess. They are just too leveraged. their debt is over 250% of their GDP and still growing at an astronomical rate. Their Belt and Road initiative has been spending crazily. Did you know China has more new housing units (houses/condos, etc) that are unoccupied than the total number of housing units in the U.S.? They have been building like crazy just to give people jobs but there is no market for them and those companies are crashing. Over 90 million unoccupied houses.

China will probably increase their debt by buying the excess real estate to prevent economic collapse
The additional debt will stil be less then US debt
