Trump has said repeatedly that on Day 1, he will “seal” the southern border, and launch what he calls “the largest deportation program in American history,” invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 — last used during World War II — to help make that happen. Deporting the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States would cost the U.S. billions of dollars and require staffing increases to the tune of tens of thousands of people.

My guess is there will be a few isolated incidences of deportations that certainly would not have happened during a Harris administration. And the liberal media will give disproportionate coverage to the ‘heartbreaking stories’. Frankly, I have no idea how many deportations occur NOW. But I’d guess that number will go up a decent amount, but not double. It won’t be millions.

Edit. Seems like it’s around 1 million a year. The terminology is vague. But I doubt it goes to over 1.5 million, say.

In the drumph dimension, signing an executive order is all it takes, followed by a few announcements that it's worked.

Existing laws allow for mass deportations.

Eisenhower deported 1.3 million in one year.

Despite a significant drop in border apprehensions due to an improved Mexican economy, Obama still managed to deport 3,000,000.
