When a small business goes under, the owner and all who work for him are affected.

When an owner of 500 stores/shops loses a few, it can be just a stat to the owner and the same as the first example to the employees who worked at those stores.

Probably one of the reasons why people can end up feeling abandoned by big companies and forgotten even when they've spent years working there.

Weirdly enough if all 500 hundred stores were individually owned, you're back to the first situation. People know everyone shares the pain when just one dies. Just perception or something important?

The 2nd Thanksgiving didn't go as well as the first.

Truth in advertising should compel a change to "We-need-a-holiday-in-late-November-to-kickstart-the-December-Holiday-season Day." But that's unwieldy, so maybe "On Your Marks Day"?

Given his contempt for conflict of interest norms, his insistence that conflict of interest laws don't apply to the president, his refusal to release his tax returns, his refusal to place his assets in a blind trust, his known history of fraud, deception and abusive business practices, what's to prevent Thieving Donald from turning the White House into a kleptocracy?

His lack of skill.

You have a medical condition that MUST be treated by medication and also necessitates frequent doctor visits to monitor that condition. Your medical care is covered by insurance, the premiums of which take a good chuck out of your income but you can manage at present. One day, you get a letter from your insurance company saying that thanks to the Trump Go Ahead and Die Act recently passed by Congress and signed by the President, they are no longer obligated to cover you and your insurance is hereby cancelled. You know that a) the TGAD Act allows insurance companies to refuse to insure you, for any reason, which will certainly include your present expensive-to-treat condition; b) the costs of providing your own treatment will exhaust your bank account in 2-3 months; and c) you have no other resources and no friends or relatives whom you could realistically ask for help. Your condition, if untreated, will result in your death in a few weeks after you stop your medications.

What would you do?

Demand a recount in Wisconsin.

It sucks. You feel like you're sleepy, but you're not sleepy. Fortunately I had some eye drops (aka "artificial tears") handy.
