Both are empirical facts, Democrats travel a bit more internationally (this is simply true, claim it as a falsehood if you wish,) and have way higher average levels of education.

The average level of education amongst Democrats is above a Bachelor's Degree (51% have at least a Bachelor's degree.)

63% of Republicans have a HS diploma or less. If you scale for overall education point averages, Republicans average a GED, while Democrats average a Bachelor's degree (rounding to the lowest nearest degree/level.)

So, yes Democrats are far smarter and better educated. And, better traveled.

Yes, people who know more, tend to know more. I doubt homeless meth head lady in the park spends a lot of time thinking about the inequalities in our current system for claiming asylum. A person in graduate school who spends a lot of time traveling the world, probably does think about it.

And, sadly, they all vote for people who would harm them. Any household that makes less than 200k/yr and votes Red is idiotic. Any household that makes less than 75k is suicidal. And, they all get roped in over trans issues and religion.

The right uses identity politics to make poor whites care more about who to hate than who to equate.

I live in GA, I know so many poor rednecks who are barely literate, who are getting devastated economically by Red politics. In some cases they are on welfare. They still line up to complain about immigrants and "urban crime people...". Maybe they should be more concerned about who is cutting their benefits. Your family is not facing food security because some trans person set a high school football record or something...

This is the frustrating thing about Republicans. If they only cared mathematically, they would be liberals. But, so many get suckered into the culture wars propagated by billionaires to divide us poors (and I use poors to say anyone making less than 200k.)

If people cared about nothing but economics and logic, 95% of America would be blue.
