Sure, that was always the theory...that's what I was taught.

But after they overturned Roe v. Wade I realized they're as politicized as any congressman.

The slim majority who overturned it were beholden to Trump, and they knew what their job would be when he appointed them: "Do my bidding, after all we're conservatives, and YOU OWE ME for being appointed."

They completely disregarded the well established principal in the law of stare decisis, i.e.following established legal precedent.

Of course, I always suspected that it would be tough for any judge to set aside his / her political beliefs when adjudicating a political issue but most judges have managed to pull it off, or at least give the appearance of fairness: not these schmucks.

So they overturned a bad precedent. It happens on SCOTUS, again something they teach in law school.

Racial segregation was established legal precedent. For over 50 years. Law school teaches even precedent can be overturned. Your matchbook school might have skipped that though.

The difference between you and me is I understand the extraordinarily difficult job the cops have and how when they are unduly ‘handcuffed’ it makes it easier for criminals.
The difference between you and I is I understand that Gaza would not be a shambles had the Palestinians not slaughtered 1000+ Jews on10/6/2024. And they STILL are holding civilian hostages, and corpses.

The gang member part interests me. There are cities, mostly ‘blue’ actually, that target gang members. They ‘know’ they are criminals in general. It makes for an interesting discussion.
