Just because abiogenesis has not been observed either in nature or the lab does not mean God or the gods made it happen. God isn't a crutch to be used to fill in the gaps in human knowledge. |

Meanwhile, even more violence and at a higher rate of prevalence is perpetrated by Christians, in the name of Christianity, You know, the religion founded by the Prince of Peace. |

What is this "regular left wing violence" of which you speak, and have you compared it the even more regular right wing violence? Your rhetoric is not evidence, and the plural of your anecdote is not data. |

Not really. Science says life cannot spontaneously generate. Life could not have come from nothing.
Adam and Eve is an allegorical story not intended to be taken literally.
Actually you are describing the global warming movement to a T. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

Luckily nobody claims life spontaneously generates (except for creationists.) Abiogenesis. Over millions-hundreds of millions of years non-organic material can become organic. This is widely accepted. And, about 30% of Americans take the Adam and Eve story literally. So basically half of Christians take the story literally. Granted only 20% of Christians in America have read the Bible, so what story are they taking literally? Probably whatever their local pastor's interpretation is... |

That is still spontaneous. Some outside force has to be acting to make this happen. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

I’m of the opinion, that one can even grade the likelihood of the unknowable. For instance, the odds that the Universe emerged from my little finger much less than other probabilities. Could be wrong. Although I also agree there appears no evidence of an intelligent creator, and that’s still a long ways from what Duffman believes. No it doesn't. And, very specific material interactions occuring over millions of years is not spontaneous. |

It does. A rock is a rock now and will be millions of years form now if it just sits there. Something has to make those interactions happen over those of millions of years. Then you get more complicated, how did male and female develop? They would have had to have happened at the same time or species would have died out. Why did it happen over most species? This all points to a higher power acting on things. Atheists are arrogant as they think nothing is higher than mankind, but there clearly is. Some people just call it "mother nature" which is fine. Still a higher power. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

Yes, that could be rocks grinding against each other in certain ways when moving through the atmosphere at certain points, throw in weather and all kinds of other factors. Even with no life at all, planets are not stagnant. I am not trying to sound insulting, but your take on evolution is not compelling. For one thing most species don't have male and female (especially when looking beyond animals, at all life, plants, fungi, bacteria, etc...). Many animals evolved to have male/females being separate organisms. But, it is not critical, and many don't. There is a reason that this is evolutionary advantageous. Maybe two partners working together increases the survival of the offspring? Maybe it forces socializing (unlike species that can literally do everything themselves so to speak.) Probably a large combination of reasons beyond what I understand. But, males and females did not exist from the start, this is hundreds of millions of years of slow change. Why is a higher power good? Does it mean you only behave well if there is somebody who can punish you if you don't? It depends what you mean as high than man. On earth man is the most "intelligent" species. But, this does not mean everything. Also, there are possibly other planets out there with even more intelligence life (you can argue it's even likely.) |
