Hmmmmmm,

Iran Claims Ships From All Countries May Transit Strait of Hormuz, Except Israel, US

Quote:
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi stated in a Saturday interview on MS NOW the only countries prohibited from using the Strait of Hormuz are the United States and Israel.

Iran reacted to Operation Epic Fury by launching hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at targets located in multiple Middle Eastern countries. Araghchi maintained that the Iranian regime was not targeting ships when asked about reports of attacks by MS NOW host Ayman Mohyeldin.

“Is there any sign that Iran is prepared to allow passage of the Strait of Hormuz? Will the Strait of Hormuz remain closed so long as this war continues?” Mohyeldin asked Araghchi.

“Well, as a matter of fact, the Strait of Hormuz is open,” the foreign minister responded. “It is only closed to the tankers and ships belonging to our enemies, to those who are attacking us and their allies. Others are free to pass.

Time to find some new talking points.

Doesn't look like a lot of countries are exactly rushing to help Trump on the Strait of Hormuz.

Zelinsky should send Trump advice he got from someone about doing things while "not holding all the cards".

Shockingly after a year of attacking our closest allies verbally, placing (largely illegal) tariffs on their nations, and threatening NATO funding, some of our allies do not seem willing to risk their assets in a (likely illegal) war that they are afraid of being drug into....

Personally I would not respond either. Especially if I was not briefed before the attack. Israel and U.S. wants to launch a sudden invasion, cool, leave it to them.

Must be some technique out of his fictional book, Art of the Deal.

Art of the flail about, looking for an off ramp , Or looking for a patsy.
He'll do to NATO and Europe what he'll do regardless of how we help or don't help in his war. So it would be dumb for any other nation to help the US.
Helping our own interest in the region: Sure.
Trump doesn't want to sit in the dock alone. Want's to fog the issue, share the blame. He never wanted to share any credit.

Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation on Tuesday, citing his concerns about the justification for military strikes in Iran and saying he “cannot in good conscience” back the Trump administration’s war.

Kent said on social media that Iran “posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”

Kent, a former political candidate with connections to right-wing extremists, was confirmed to his post last July on a 52-44 vote. As head of the National Counterterrorism Center, he was in charge of an agency tasked with analyzing and detecting terrorist threats. His resignation reflects unease within Trump’s base about the war and shows that questions about the justification for the use of force in Iran extend to the right of President Donald Trump's base and to senior members of the administration.
