Trump bullied his way to a deal. I wish there was an unbiased source that could tell us if this war overall was ‘worth it’. Lots of ‘bad men’ Iranian leaders taken out. Lots of Iranian military infrastructure taken out. But now ‘Hormuz’ will be on the tips of tongues for quite a while. Will the instability Trump started have lasting effects? |

| missedhervee Member since: Apr 23, 2021 Threads: 158 Posts: 5469 | Nothing of substance has really changed. Mullahs still run the theocracy. No agreement viz. nuclear weapons. The fat oaf started something he cannot finish. I do NOT see Iran agreeing to our terms, and I hope they do not agree as our terms are an unreasonable attempt to dictate what a sovereign power must do "or else." Sure, Iranians are different that we are both culturally and politically: so what? Most countries are, and we don't attack them out of the blue simply because a paranoid Jew tells us to. |

I hope they come to a long term solution. He can make it a victory if he wants. If I had to bet, Trump will end up signing an Obama deal, IE the one he tore up in 2018.... So, basically he ripped up the solution, killed a bunch of civilians and sent a bunch of Americans to their death to be worse off than we were under Obama's deal. But, I would be happy with it, if the war ends forever. The instability will certainly have effects, probably for some time. Travel to GCC countries will drop (I'm certainly not going anywhere in the middle east, despite wanting to go to Jordon this year.). It will have massive tourism implications. I don't think anyone is happy with the Iran War except for Israel. And, they are not happy that it is (hopefully) ending. So I don't think anyone is truly happy. |

Billions in damage, billions spent, new boss same as the old boss (no democracy), enriched uranium still there, permanent solution still not achieved. Another leader who should have been thrown out of office, Netanyahu, who had one of the most preventable attacks of terrorism happen on his watch. Most telegraphed, right on the border, known enemies, and Nethenboo had far superior forces. EVERYHING going for him. And he still failed. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
