The US really hasn't done much to brag about militarily since WWII.

Korea: stalemate, a country divided.

Vietnam: epic loss.

Granada, Venezuela etc.: too insignificant to count.

Iran: epic fail to date.

Let's not forget that Iran is a country familiar with a brutal war
The Iran Iraq war 1980 to 1988 was one of the most brutal wars of modern times
It's estimated that Iran lost 500,000 killed in that war
It was so brutal, both sides targeted civilian infrastructure in cities
Iran endured an incredible amount of suffering during that war

Idiotic comment by somebody who clearly was never in the military...

You probably thought we were winning Vietnam too because we dropped more bombs on their native land and they dropped none on us.

Some countries do not need to win in a conventional sense. They need to make life miserable for a country that is used to being pampered. Rural people in the Persian wilderness are used to life with no power and finding alternative bridges. Fatsos in America legitimately have panic attacks when gas is a few dollars up and groceries spike. Our tolerance for not just adversity, but even minor inconvenience is so low.

Really, you are comparing the Vietnam War to the military action happening in Iran presently? Talk about idiotic.

Please try and sell your "some countries don't need to win in a conventional sense" theory to the 14 million Iranians in the Tehran Metro area that are about to have their lights turned off.

Does the sales job go something like this "Hey guys, I know you are using candles tonight, but really, your IRGC is winning this war because there is this VIllage Idiot on a random US website that is complaining about gas prices via memes. I mean they are really struggling over there in the US!" You're Laughable.

What is your definition of winning? Committing more war crimes than the other country? Killing more civilians in the other country? If so, we are definitely winning. You know we are good guys and stuff...

Shit, that is a good point. We are way behind in the "commission of war crimes against civilians" category versus Iran & their proxies. We definitely are losing in that category.

The "good guys"? There are no good guys in a military conflict. Winning is the victor's side dictating the rules going forward to the other side. The Iranian's have no cards to play here. Now we blockade the Straight and their ships don't get out either. How long do you think their economy/people can sustain a full closure? Their economy is already in shambles, now their is no oil revenue coming in to fund anything. The icing on the cake is when the lights go out & the bridges fall down. Then what are they going to tell their soldiers, their civilian population? Don't worry, we got this and we're winning? Get serious.

This is the problem that a lot of Americans don't realize. They think people in some countries have a higher quality of life.

For example in Afghanistan, even in the nicer areas, power, water, etc... just are not things. People don't care about gas prices, nobody has cars. It is hard to threaten the quality of life of people that live in remote farms with zero modern utilities.

Vietnam, similar thing. Iraq, was a bit more developed, but still nothing like the West.

As for good guys. It is an illegal war that was started for no just reason. We are the bad guys here. Iran did not attack us. Iran is not a threat to us. Iran are probably not the good guys either, but we 100% are not.

Thankfully, we don't have to wait too long to see how all Trump's claims pan out.
