Because it's still seldomly used. There's a bus company called "Omnibus de Mexico." Literate individuals, like you or me, will recognize what an "Omnibus volume" is (it's a collection of two or more lengthy works in one volume). Things like that. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Apparently not a good teacher. A good teacher encourages her students to figure things out on their own. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

A lot of archaic English words would still be in the dictionary. Usually archaic just means seldom used, whereas "obsolete" words are never used. Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning? |

Don't go that far. Some archaic terms are still in use, but in specialized ways and in very limited ways. Take "Treasure." Hardly anyone uses it to mean "a store of money held in reserve," or "wealth of any kind," but there is still a Department of the Treasury. Or quite simply few people will say "where BE your treasure?" Some time ago I read an anecdote about a man who knew Classical Greek and tried to use it on a trip to Greece. As soon as he said something, the locals tended to laugh. He found in short order he'd been saying things like "Wherefore be thine corn which thou hast made into bread and burnt?" when asking for a piece of toast. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I took a Greek class in college, although it was Homeric Greek, and there were students in the class who spoke Modern Greek. They had surprisingly little advantage over everyone else. |

It may be the language changed a bit in the last 2,500 years or so... For that matter Latin as used in the Roman Republic is hardly the same as Medieval Latin as used in Europe. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

This is surprising to me as they were always very busy whenever I was there. No other business has taken its place, it is totally vacant inside. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

I'm not clear on how this relates to the thread. This isn't a gambling board ;) Try this one: "Estos tacos ladran cunado los muerdo." Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |
