Comments on Jeb's Spanish. Surprisingly, I could follow what he was saying.

He turns coherent and effectual in Spanish?

Remarkable.

He was married to a Latina for 41 years.

Seriously, could someone provide a link that works to this youtube video.

I think it is down. However, here is another. If the hotlink doesn't work, try here.

On another topic, I was flipping through the channels the other night and came across an interview on FOX news of Donald Trump. Much like taking a peek at a traffic accident, I couldn't help myself and listened. He said that Mexico was "sending" criminals, like the one involved in the San Francisco murder, here.

My question is how is Mexico "sending" them here. He implied, to me at least, it was a Mariel boatlift kind of thing but it just doesn't pass my BS test.

Unauthorized immigration peaked in 2007 according to the Pew research center. DT is calculating that playing a fear card will get him an early jump on the other candidates. While it may help when campaigning against a field of 17 candidates, there is little chance that he can turn this rhetoric into a mainstream candidate. Jeb Bush referred to vitriol that Trump is spewing out.

The next Republican who says something reasonable about immigration will be the first to do so in decades.

I saw a meme the other day which said "For ever illegal alien who commits murder, we should deport a politician in favor of open borders."

Never mind the fact you cannot deport a citizen (exile, yes; deport, no), think of the reverse: for every natural born citizen who commits murder we should exile a politician against more open immigration." It doesn't have the same ring to it, but would you care to guess which side would be depleted first?

Off topic, but I've always wondered what kind of lighting or lens Disney uses to always achieve a look in movies like this like a painting.

In ten years, it will be CGI....

Funny story:

Lens flares are due to an aberration in lenses. But people got so used to seeing them on film and TV, that people working on the all-CGI in visual effects TV show Babylon 5 had to create them digitally and add them.

I'm not sure whether that tidbit ought to adorn the dictionary entry for "irony" or "absurdity."

I may lose some man points for this, but I thought Disney did an outstanding job with Cinderella. I was also quite impressed with Oz the Great and Powerful. Nobody seems to ever comment on it, but I think such Disney films achieve a Kubrick-like perfection, at least in how they look.

I think most adults eventually see a lot of the Disney films.

Most adults with children do.

I really like animation. Some of the best movies I've seen were animated. I won't go through the whole list, but I'll say this: the best Batman movie is the animated "Mask of the Phantasm." It actually has a theme, a plot, and complex characterization. The styling and imagery are amazing, too. I should get it on DVD.
