The ones I've known are just fine to work with etc. If we don't have a policy of letting them pile through the borders in uncontrollable numbers I think we can weed out the criminals. And I also don't think they are bad for the economy, probably good Legal immigration meanwhile has led to having people from countries where they hate us come here, sometimes committing atrocities, sometimes getting into fraudulent activity to milk the people they hate ... also bringing in antisemitism to join up with the samesuch already here I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Well climate science is never going to give perfect results, but it's the best thing to anything else that I know of. One thing I really object to in our immigrations policy is putting illegals all in the same class. We have people who come over the border and commit a serious crime within weeks, and we have people here 20 or 30 years with barely a traffic ticket who have been basically what would be called a good citizen in any other context. To me that is insane. It's like throwing away a valuable item for almost no reason because a t wasn't crossed in the paperwork. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 166 Posts: 6518 | The wildfires bother anybody of course, but I just heard Bjorn Lomborg say worldwide there are less wildfires than usual So I asked the googlebot "does this year have more wildfires" reply, "Yes, 2026 is experiencing an above-average wildfire year, with both the number of fire ignitions and total acres burned tracking significantly higher than historical averages in North America and parts of Europe." then I asked "does this year have more wildfires worldwide" "No, this year does not have more total wildfires worldwide. Global fire emissions and overall burned area are actually at low levels" I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 166 Posts: 6518 | I'm seeing articles now about not over-using AI, such as asking a bot 'what to wear today', in order to help cut down on demand for electricity ............... something else to feel guilty about *sigh* I can't help but notice that if I search for something, 9 times out of 10 I automatically get a bot answering the query ... so who is at fault on that?
