What's ridiculous is somebody thinking a credit union is comparable to a "club." No one goes to a credit union to hang out or make friends.

But a credit union is a "club" in that you are a "member" and have some common bond with the other members, usually place of residence or employment. So EB is really correct here.

things, like teachers. You have
to prove you're a teacher to
belong. My energy company
has an employee credit union.
I bought my first car thru my
dad's credit union where he
worked.

Unlike banks that are open to anyone, laws require credit unions to have a defined field of membership, which means you'll have to be a member of that group to access the credit union and its services.

So it's ridiculous to have a Gay
credit union that is also open
to non Gays. What's the point.

It is pretty bizarre that the righties are upset by a gay person opening a credit union. I could care less if the head of a credit union is straight or gay.

This exists already. There are 'historically Black colleges and Universities' that admit a very small percentage of Caucasians. Not their primary focus but they do accept whites.
