Translation: 51% of republicans polled are mentally ill.

Do you blame Lebron James for the riots in Los Angeles after his spectacular play helped win the championship? You know far more people were arrested during those riots than after the Capitol riot? I mean, anyone with half a brain would know an LA win would lead to massive rioting and destruction? Had he played poorly and they lost those riots would not have happened! (Yes, I’m hoping the Capitol arrests exceed the 76 LA arrests as it is still early in the Capitol investigation).

So is Lebron James to ‘blame’ for those riots? My answer is ‘of course not’.

Do I believe if Trump did everything he could to dissuade the insurrectionists from committing acts of violence? Of course not! Do I think Trump wanted problematic civil disobedience? Of course. Is it possible he was too stupid to anticipate an actual storming of the Capitol? Absofreakinglutely! So I think he is to ‘blame’, but if charged criminally, I don’t think I’d convict.

As I’ve said for a few months.... I can’t wait until Jan 20.

I’ll be following possible impeachment stuff tomorrow. I guess I’m hoping they don’t, as that will keep him front page of the news after Jan 20.

I think that you bring up a great point that fans of professional sports often become tribal. It would be unfair to blame individual players for this obviously (unless they were actively encouraging fans to do such actions). But, I have long held, that for some, sports allegiance can become almost a second (or first) relgigion and can lead to many acts of unnecessary violence.

As for President Trump, he has been fueling the flames of this since the election results started. He installed the foundation for conspiracy folks to "take arms against the tyranny". I have been saying this since the original results and his behavior. Nobody in the history of America (and remember we have had Presidents that have been in literal duels) has this level of disinformation been pushed by a President. It is unheard of, and by no means normal. Any responsible President would say "respect the process" or at the very least "I am challenging the results but please respect the process as the courts work it out". President Trump has done nothing but case dispersions on the courts and the legal process, and the general process of voting...... (And, remember, this is worth pointing out for many, he appointed many of the judged who dismissed his claims......)

I would not convict criminally.
I would impeach. Its an incredible stain on his Presidency. He deserves it and its just a simple vote.
If the Senate punts it down the line, thats their business
I'm pretty concerned about Jan 19.
The evening particularly
We may see bombs
We may see evacuations
We may only see the inauguration on TV from a secure location
There is an extremist well armed portion of the population that is convinced this election was stolen
Its really scary out there
Hang Mike Pence was trending
Theses well armed extremists truly believe Pence could have stopped this and view him as a traitor
We dont just live in interesting times
We live in insane times
These nutjobs truly believe anything Trump says

What does Jan 20th have to
do with anything. You think
Trump is going to disappear?
He'll be in the news every
day for years. Beijing Biden
and then Commie/Kammie
will blame Trump for every
mistake they make, just like
Barry whined about Bush
the first 4 years. The coward
even did it in his 2nd term.

Trump will get his own platform
and be to Beijing Biden what
Foxnews was to Barry. He whined
and cried like a baby for 8
years.

Nah, there's nothing like what he had as President. Like Limbaugh, Trump will say stuff and no one will even print it or show it on TV. Unless you tune in, you won't even know. Might take a little while.

Think about it. Who has the second biggest voice right now everyone usually hears? It doesn't exist.

The second biggest voice is shared by a few politicians and some celebrities and other random people sometimes.

Exactly
I follow the news closely
yet
I dont have the foggiest idea what Rush says on any given day.
I'm not interested and nobody reports it

Yet Rush was and is the biggest
influence on talk radio. And
Trump has something Rush
didn't have. Hundreds of millions
of fans worldwide. Trump will
be a constant burr under the
Beijing/Commie saddle. And
you're wrong about the press
ignoring Trump, they can't
ignore him. He drives their
ratings.

Even in the last months, they ignore stuff Trump says and does. They don't need him.

Uh Huh. That's why his poll numbers
have gone up 2 points since last
Wednesday. The 85 million who
gave him a landslide win know
it was Antifa thugs behind the
violence.
