That certainly sounds like dumb Trumpers to me ;-) The quote is from 'Science Daily' if you want to read the whole report.

Perhaps it is "dumb Trumpers" but those areas of Texas--the cities and some suburbs--are where the Democrats have gained control of areas in the state over the past few years. A suburban/rural county here had ALL contested local (county and city) elections go Democrat in the 2018 election (while Trump was winning the state overall). UT is located in Austin; that is a liberal area. Maybe it is broken down further in the study as far as party lines, but the areas mentioned in the quote are not nearly as conservative as the rest of the state.

That being said, I see the most chatter in my areas being conservatives who supported Trump over Basement Biden. I live in a rural area.
