I know almost nothing of Herschel Walker other than his athletic accomplishments, what makes you believe he is a "dumb dumb jock"?

During the height of the pandemic almost 35% of people who could do their job at home instead of going to the office were working at home. Now it's down to just over 7%. Study after study has shown that people who work from home bill the company for more hours and do less work and I'm sure this has a great deal to do with Elon Musk demanding all his employees have to put in 40 hours in the office before they can work even one hour at home. He's sick of the inefficiency and unproductivity. Of course people are going to game the system if they get the chance just like they steal office supplies and don't consider it theft.

Musk said they’ll be cutting 10% of salaried employees. He’s just trying to get that 10% to quit.

I wondered if it was considered that some of those good wages were because the travel to work, stuck in traffic suck so bad they had to pay people more to stay. If workers have no travel to work expense, that's a nice bonus.

We had a few days notice before we bugged out. I told someone, "there are two types of people who work from home. Them that take time away form their desks to throw laundry in the washing machine and them that lie and say they do not."

An automaker needs workers to collaborate. You cannot do that from home no matter how many video meetings you have. Musk probably has known this for some time but is just tired of asking nice. Jamie Dimon who is a smarter executive stopped asking nice some time ago, he said get back in here to work.

I have seen the struggles of newer people in a work from home environment and they are real. I predicted what would happen with it as we bugged out. Why it took CEOs over 6 months to see what I saw coming amazes me.

I was driving 35 miles each way to work, now I am working from home and probably not driving 35 miles per week.

Manhattan offices are now up to 39% capacity. People refuse to go back to the office. Much of it has to do with the big increase in crime, and especially crime on the subways.

One example of what companies are facing:

Last Fall, Jamie Dimon announced all JP Morgan workers would be returning full time to their offices in January. News to them. The highly talented finance professionals earning large salaries and even bigger end of year bonuses, defied Dimon and refused to return to the office.

Rather than lose the talent, Dimon was forced to come up with a hybrid work plan.
