This is one of those things that if people don't want spend money to prevent, will cost them a lot more if the crooks get into the system.

Iowa family of four apparently all died during their first night at Mexican condominium but were not missed until failure to attend a family function several days later. No wounds. No cherry red skin so its not likely to be carbon monoxide. Probably its another one of these strong insecticides being used indoors or near windows and air vents. Warning labels may be in English but even if in Spanish the workers may not be literate and may not much care about the dangers.

Not always about the literate worker. When I was a PCO we heard about this kind of thing from time to time. Not always this bad, but just stupid practices. Upper management just wanted the work done, no excuses. Took at a minimum 30 days to train a guy in the basics. Never allowed to keep some surplus labor around. Corners got cut. Guys got pushed out into the field too early all the time.

We had one system that no matter what you did would not hurt a human. I was once told to give a guy 10 minutes of instruction and send him out "because it is so simple!" Our tech specialist told me horror stories of what he saw on that system. Stuff a trained guy could not think of if he was told to make a mess of things to show how not to do it. Cut corners.

I will file the rest under "you don't even want to know."

I wonder how much this bad publicity costs a resort area much less Mexico in general. All because of some paper pusher not wanting to allow a guy trimming hedges and watering lawns to have a slightly slower pace of work.

I don't think it is measurable. I would only visit Mexico as part of a cruise ship trip anyhow, I doubt that I am alone. A certain number of afraid of their shadow types may book elsewhere.

What I pooh pooh'd, not that it makes a spit of difference is that people believe that of out of all the ways the KGB has proved they could kill you, that is pure stupidity to think that they would use a nerve agent that points directly at them. If Ivan wanted them dead, they would be DEAD. Still no proof is there?

Putin has repeatedly asked for a chance to test the evidence, which afaik hasn't been shown to anyone.

I produced enough evidence for reasonable doubt. It does seem your mind is made up. Did you even look at the arguments that I linked?

I did. However, I think Teresa May doesn't go onto the floor of Parliament and make a baseless accusation, or send home 23 Russian diplomats, with less than total assurance this was a deliberate act of the Russian govt.

If (and I agree), Putin is a "chess master" in these things, he knows

1. Revenge is a dish best served cold. This spy dying in prison served no larger purpose.

2. Putting a guy like that back on the street, and further, allowing him to leave the country, gives Putin a huge opportunity to watch him, see what he's doing, who he talks to. It might even have been that the guy agreed to being shadowed or even reporting back just to be set free and not killed. He could easily have been bait.

3. The object lesson to others is MASSIVE. Cross Putin or his cronies, and you and all your generations die. Can't ignore that both his wife and son had previously been murdered.

But there's no way MI6 has exposed everything they know about this. They just don't take such extraordinary retaliation measures and release such statements without proof (that we may never see).

Most of the details on these things never surface. It improves Putin's reputation particularly in dealings with his business partners who themselves are very wealthy and powerful men.

I recall that young math and signals expert who died inside a suitcase inside his apartment's bathtub and the intelligence services waited a week before notifying Scotland Yard to report the "suicide".

His sister and the coroner were scandalized but that's the way it stood.

It is the very history of the Crown to doublecross.

Tony Blair and his handshakes of death with Hussein, Gadaffi, and Assad. WMD's. BP and the democratic republic if Iran. England, the US and Germany have all admitted to using false flags against their own people.

Governments lie all the time.

Have you seen one direct quote from May that says, the nerve agent was produced by Russia? I'd like to see it if you have. Alluded to, doesn't count.

The question has been brought forth as to how they were able to determine that is was the Novichok nerve agent [supposedly made in Russia] so quickly? It took weeks for Russia, who was tasked with determining the origin of nerve agent used by terrorists in Syria. The nerve agent used in Iraq against the Kurds and again against the Iranians, was American made.

Sounds a lot like carbon monoxide. Don't they put scents in insecticides? Shouldn't it be overpowering scent if it was that strong. Was the condo under a tent when they went in?

Maybe is was unscented heating gas, but why are they going to a beach resort when it's cold?

Cold?
A heater in Mexico?
Do they even have heaters on the property?
No report of 'cherry red faces and chests' which would indicate carbon monoxide, but first responder could be some dumb flatfoot who not only don'ts know nuttin but only don'ts know it in Spanish.

Temperature at night was 18 degrees only two degrees under the average for that date. It was just as cold on the 5th there, nobody kicked off then.

I'm sure there is a Celsius figure a/k/a Centigrade. I'll leave it to you math geniuses to figure out what this is in real degrees.
