Most areas of Flint now are below Federal maximums for lead in potable water. Of course the environmentalists are saying they will push until it is 0. Probably few cities in the USA with 0% lead in the water.

This sort of project has been paid from federal funding sources before.

The current budget deficit is insurmountable by economic growth. Every dollar not collected now will need to be collected with interest later.

I am a proponent of a balanced budget, especially in prosperous economic times like now.

That means tax cuts should have spending cuts. Obviously that didn't happen.

There is a right way and a wrong way to try to cut spending, though. You hear even congressional Republicans balking at recision, knowing what the consequences of that would be. That action is probably a worse idea than the sequestration deal they came up with. At least that was negotiated, though.

Whether it has or has not the point is the water issue in Flint is entirely at the hands of the local Democrat government. The feds had nothing to do with it.

Most conservatives would be happy for spending cuts. But the problem is the only real place you can cut are entitlements. Soon as that is proposed all hell breaks loose. Might as well cut taxes and at least get the economic growth. Invest and save carefully for when it all crashes around us. Have your house paid for and stock plenty of nonperishable food. The worst collapses last at most 10 years, and those who are prepared will come out on top, as long as we do not go socialist and have our assets outright confiscated.
