Because the majority of Americans don’t want the stupid wall, and the majority of the Americans blame Donald for the shutdown (which he was “proud” to take ownership of).

The Dems have absolutely no reason to negotiate over a stupid wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.

Thought the content of Trump’s speech was good, perhaps even compelling. He isn’t the same when reading off a TelePrompter though so didn’t think it came across all that well. Obviously rehersed but not well enough. Sounded like half the time he just rolled into the next sentence without taking an appropriate pause.

Federal judge tosses Ashley Judd's sexual harrassent claims against Weinstein out of court as not covered by the statute she sued under, though perhaps constituting sexual harassment in the colloquial sense.

Trump is now denying that he ever said Mexico would pay for the wall. Here's his crazy quote from this morning:

They are paying for it with the incredible deal we made…. Mexico is paying for the wall indirectly…. Obviously, they’re not gonna write a check.”

During the 2016 campaign, Trump insisted that Mexico would send a check. On March 31, 2016 Donald Trump sent a memo to the media explaining that under the Trump administration Mexico would be required to make a one-time payment of $5 billion for the wall.



Eventually the marks will figure out that Trump is a con man, but some of these marks are slow.

It's fascinating that Trump waited until the Democrats took over the House before he got serious about the Mexican border. He was in a much much better position to negotiate a year ago.
