Epstein's previous sentence was more than ridiculous. 13 months in Palm Beach Jail, but free 12 hours a day 6 days a week. I think they really need to arrest everyone involved in that.

Earlier today a reporter asked Nancy Pelosi if she intends to impeach Alex Acosta for breaking the law by not informing the Epstein's victims of the lenient plea deal.

Pelosi said nope.

“It’s up to the president. It’s his Cabinet,” Pelosi said Tuesday when asked whether she’d consider launching impeachment hearings against Acosta.

Yikes, she's cynical. She wants Acosta employed by the White House for as long as possible, ideally until November 2020, so that Trump continues to be tied to Epstein. She wants the Trump brand to be marketed as Trump = Epstein. The key to that marketing angle is keeping Acosta right where he is, attending cabinet meetings and being photographed with the President. She's hoping Trump plays along, and doesn't fire the jerk.

It's smart politics, but it's also a terrible disservice to Epstein's victims.

Suspect Arrested for Setting Fire to Pride Flags at Harlem Gay Bar.

I thought flag burning was free speech?

You thought burning someone else's private property in the egress of an occupied dwelling was protected...

It looked ambiguous that it was their flags or ones he brought. Regardless, there is no reason for the "hate crime" since flag burning is free speech.

He burned a pride flag belonging to the business based on it being a gay bar, which is why he was charged with a hate crime. In other words, he targeted someone because they were gay.

Had he carried his own pride flag to across the street from the bar and burned it, he wouldn't have been charged with a hate crime.

That being the case I can see charging him with vandalism. There should be no such thing as a "hate crime" as they are so selectively enforced as to be a total joke. Will they charge gays with "hate crimes" for disrupting the next business they do not like the opinions of the owner?

It's funny watching AZ twist himself into pretzels trying to make the flag owner the villain and not the flag burner.

If it was a confederate flag, we know he'd feel differently. Why is anyone engaging with him on this? lol

That always gets me when somebody murders someone and the authority's say, "we are thinking of charging him with a hate crime". I think gee duh, what murder isn't a hate crime? In my world view all murders are hate crimes.

As far as Lg's or whatever claiming the rainbow, I call bullshit. People been flying rainbow flags much longer than any minority group wanted the rainbow for their banner. I "hate" it when people say, "you can't say this now" or you can't say that. What was wrong with blending in? Now everybody wants to get in everyones face.
rant off

The gesture OK is supposed to be "white power" ? Give me a break.

Doesn't matter so much with murder. Putting Nazi symbols in a Jewish graveyard would normally be simple vandalism, but you can up the penalties with a hate crime charge.

Maybe you can't see the difference between being intimidated by simple vandalism and something that has a history associated with mass murders, but I can.

Pacific Gas & Electric, which is blamed for some of California's deadliest recent fires, knew for years that dozens of its aging power lines posed a wildfire threat but avoided replacing or repairing them, it was reported Wednesday.

The Wall Street Journal, using company documents obtained under the federal Freedom of Information Act, reported that the utility told the U.S. Forest Service in 2017 and 2018 that 49 aging steel towers on one transmission line needed replacement and another 57 needed replacement of their hardware and aluminum lines.

PG&E also estimated back in 2017 that its towers had an average age of 68 years and some were more than a century old, the Journal said, reporting that the company also said it needed a plan to replace towers and better manage lines to prevent electrical conductors from falling on the ground and causing fires.
