Android phones you don't have to pay a monthly fee. But in order to make calls or do anything else you need to be within wifi range. You also need a phone number from some normal phone provider to get a Google Voice number. If you want it to be your primary number you must at least have Magic Jack or Vonage. Wifi phones are good cheap alternatives to landline phones since most people have WiFi at home. for most people today, their cell phone is their primary phone. I can't imagine anyone spending the money on and Apple iPhone and not activating it with a cellular provider, for a monthly fee. But there is a description of making wifi calls https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203032 Google Hangouts uses a swipe to answer the phone instead of just pushing the screen. That way you are much less likely to answer by accident. |

Funny, but probably not far off in the future. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
