I'm coming from the NFL's perspective. They have moved their games away from outlets where there could be incidental exposure, to pay to view. Cable and satellite ESPN and the NFL Channel do not reach as many homes as the over the air ABC network. How can you build a younger fan base if they can't see your product? |

The first regular season Monday Night Football game to air on ESPN was on September 11, 2006. The NFL Network debuted on November 23, 2006, the telecasts were originally part of "Run to the Playoffs" package, which consisted of eight total games broadcast on Thursday and Saturday nights (five on Thursdays, and three on Saturdays) during the latter portion of the season At the time a lot of people presumed that this was just the beginning, and most of the games would move to cable. However, they have remained on free broadcast through at least 2022. At the same time, their are a lot of predictions that ESPN is a giant bubble that will burst as more and more people cut put cable TV. So we may see more games available for free in the future. |

The current money grab will come back to bite them when the kids start making money, but spend it on soccer jerseys. |

Well it is difficult to say who is more responsible. Football doubled it's TV fees, and basketball may have tripled theirs. ESPN Tightens Its Belt as Pressure on It Mounts Competition in the pay-TV industry is rising and subscribers are trimming cable bills Despite trouncing other cable channels in ratings, sports TV powerhouse ESPN is facing growing pressures like declining subscribers, and increasing competition and content costs. |

The pilot was full of a lot of action, but requires you to accept a pretty unlikely combination of events. No James Spader in this cast. |

Well you should get a network programming job. They just cut the order back from 13 to 9 episodes. As 5 episodes have already aired the show is not halfway over. Quite a tumble for our boy Wesley. The final ignobility is if they pull the show before the 9 episodes air. There is nothing worse than being pulled off the air after the network has already paid for your episodes. Of course they will show up on the website or get burned off in the summer when they have time to fill. So, NBC, the one time kingdom of sitcoms, has put their only two sitcoms on Friday night. Undateable, which is now live every week, seems to have eeked out a place on the schedule just barely. The non-live sitcom "Truth Be Told" pulls the lowest in-season premiere rating in a network's history. Grimm, is set to premiere its fifth season on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 9 PM. |
