Ha, what I meant is that we have been intrigued with the mysteries, beauty, and power of the universe around us since the very beginning. We have blessed with an intelligence that allows us and seems to drive us to wonder and discovery.

I found a meme with more or less these words:

As an atheist, I don't believe in approximately 2,700 gods. Christians don't believe in approximately 2,699 of them. They're almost as atheistic as I am.

I think you know there is a big difference in not believing in anything supernatural, no gods, and believing in the God of Jesus Christ. My fellow Theists and I are kissing cousins compared to the craziness that would lead someone to believe in nothing. I'm gladly as far away from atheism as I can get.

I love that kind of talk. You're exactly as
far away as Dan Barker, the evangelist,
was. All it takes is a moment of real insight
to weaken the hold all the lies you've been
told have on you. It happened to my friend
Ed, the ex priest, and the famous writer
and speaker Alan Watts, a former priest
who was vicar of the University of Chicago
for awhile. If there is a thin line between
love and hate, the line is just as thin between
belief and non belief.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Cool, that means you are very close to belief.

Oh, don't give up hope.

You, too, can be saved from the need to toady-up to that narcissistic, sadist deity.

Isn't that who we make God out to be when we replace Him with ourselves?

Of course. All it takes is good hard evidence
instead of speculation and I'm there. Prove
anything to me and you change my mind on
the spot. Do you know it took a year after
the Wright Bros flew at Kitty Hawk before
anybody from the legitimate press would come
out and see it for themselves? Real proof changed
their minds in an instant.

Putting aside the fact that there is good hard evidence doesn't it seem strange to you that you don't require this proof for almost every decision you make in your life.

I need real evidence, not the faux stuff
your Church tries to pass off.

But I pretty much do. I'm a due diligence
person, I don't make decisions of import
without knowing what I'm getting into.
