This is a neat way to exercise your brain and waste time.

If you have used google street maps to explore far-away cities, this is a flip on that. It puts you in a random place and you have to guess where on earth it is at. You will find yourself looking at road signs, trees, and even dirt to figure it out.

My record close is something like 10 yards away from the spot! if you ever wanted to pretend to be a CIA Analyst this is the thing.

First round I got 12700 points, closest
guess was 90 miles away.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Been playing.

Once got 35 yards and thought that was good.....

Got 18 yards and thought it could not get any better!!!!!

Got 1.8 yards and was ready to retire......

Today got one 0.3 yards away! For those of you in Common Core math, that is 1 foot away!

That's pretty astounding! I had 2 within 100 miles and was quite pleased on my first try.
My second try wasn't worth discussion. lol...
Neat link!

Terrific game!!! Thanks for linking it!

If you want to play live with someone, I've thought of three Rule Variants that can all be played with or without time limits. In many cases, it still comes down to luck, though.

1.) Research Anything

Street signs, realtor signs, place names, it's all fair game.

2.) Semi-Research

In this Variant, you may only look at county signs and things of that nature, researching realtors and specific places is cheating.

3.) Research Nothing

What it says on the box.

Great idea! I got 9 points. None of my guesses were even in the right continent.

Edit: Got 752 points my second try. Still have never got the continent right. I think a random guesser would do better.

Edit: New high score -- 4809. Got one that was only 300 miles away. I put Wyoming and it was Montana.

Ah, but did you use common core math?

Got 6600ish without moving around. It's easier if you move from your starting spot to look around.

I don't even know what that is. I hear politicians bring it up sometimes but it goes over my head.
