Because they're awful people?

Most of what I think of doesn't matter to me.

See, like Trump could be picking up prostitutes, cheating on his wife with a man, running a casino in his basement, hanging out with crazy people on his personal time. I DON'T CARE.

But I care about his job, policies, negotiation skills, knowledge, insight ON THE JOB. If he's going to act stable and not like a maniac and fly off the hinge and challenge Putin to a nuke exchange. I don't care if he bangs an intern in his office as long as he gets his work done.

But then people in this country worry more about what porn people look at than someone getting blowin away in daily shootings.

I don't claim to understand that either.

Say what you want about Bill & Hillary but until they go off to jail I'm not going worry about a lot of the things other people worry about.

That a persons character doesn't matter says
more about you than them. A persons character
is everything, it means everything. It tells you
about his honesty and integrity. Is he a thief
and a liar and a fraud? Why would that not matter
to you.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Actually, you didn't notice that I care about character when he does his job.

Do I know if a school teacher is also working as a porn star? Hell no. Don't care, if they are a great teacher.

I guess I should say, there's a lot of moralizing about character issues that don't fall into criminal activity. I don't excuse criminal activity, if it's proven.

Here's an interesting thing to ponder, and I'm not sure what it means.

No doubt Bill lied and cheated on Hillary. So, does he lie to the American people because of that?
Whereas people point out Obama has lied, but is apparently faithful in his relationship.

There's doesn't seem to be a strict correlation between one or the other.

It was just exaggeration and braggadocio, which are key elements of Trump's brand. Obviously he's not going to shoot someone in the street.

I understand confidence and even arrogance. Megalomania is frightening! Megalomania is essentially infantile and is very close to paranoic disorder. Read biographies of Stalin for a true megalomaniac.

At some point you are going to make a judgement call that is going to risk the lives of thousands of men, which should be humbling.

And this is a big part of what is wrong in the USA these days.

Character matters. Hillary does not have enough self-respect to leave a guy who cheats on her and instead even defends his cheating to the point of blaming the GOP. Do you really think a person like that is going to make any kind of good leader? Bill lies to Hillary and cheats on her for years, why would you believe he will be truthful and trustworthy in any other part of his life? Both of them were in a land deal where if you missed a payment you could lose 100% of your equity and all old payments retroactively were then considered "rent." Do you trust such a person to make fair laws for you?

I can say from having been in management I have seen that the attitude of "I don't care if he bangs an intern in his office as long as he gets his work done" usually backfires. We had a manager who banged his secretary in the office and had a reputation as they guy who made inappropriate jokes with the female employees. He was a great motivator and sales manager, but he caused a sexual harassment suit.

A smart person does care about what the guy does off the job, and the higher the job level the more they care. Because it does not stay off the job. Case in point, Hillary has had a murky past off the job then on the job she ignored the law and used that homebrew server, giving away secrets to our enemies and putting lives of our spies at risk.

Yes, there is a reason to care.
The President is a fink.

Well the historians/political science people have Bill ranking up to 8th best President on several factors. So, I think that answers that question.

(Obama has dropped farther since I last look at one of those, so it's not favorable to democrats)

Anyway, I don't give Obama any credit for being a regular family man and good parent where his bad decisions are concerned.

Whereas LBJ was a stinker personally, but I give him credit on civil rights act.

I can probably come up with more and more examples, given enough time. I just don't think it bears out, not strictly anyway.

Reminds me of another thing -- kind of a pet peeve.

Some people love their doctor because he has a great bedside manner. It's nice but it doesn't mean crap if he is incompetent. You want the biggest a-hole in the hospital to work on you if he's the best doctor, regardless of his other failings. You don't want the nicest friendliest pilot with good morals, you want someone who is a damn good pilot regardless flying your plane.
