Ayecarumba Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 89 Posts: 1744 | I found an almond M&M in my regular sized (1.74 oz) bag of peanut M&M's. I was pleased to think that I got a bonus, because I like almonds more than peanuts. Reflecting on this, I wonder if I would have been equally disappointed if I found a peanut M&M in my bag of almond M&M's. I didn't think they would be equal to me. Curious. How do they shape up to you? Please rank the following from 1 = Most Favorite; to 6 = Least Favorite? Almonds Cashews Coconuts Peanuts Pecans Walnuts |

Walnuts, coconuts, maybe almonds are in the same family (not scientific classification "family") as peaches, raspberries, and, somewhat hysterically, coffee beans, which are not beans at all. Sorry for the pedantry, but this is DT ;) Anyways, I don't like nuts, real or misnomered. I'll go ahead and give walnuts a 6 as reparations for all the brownies and cookies ruined in my youth. Screw you, walnuts =p Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

You beat me too it. The only nuts I eat is peanut butter and it's a legume, not a nut. "Strictly speaking, cocoa or cacao is a nut, the seed of a fruit, but is most commonly called cocoa beans, cocoa seeds, cocoa nuts, chocolate seeds, or chocolate beans." I just found out yesterday that chocolate is a fermented product. They ferment the nuts in the white slime they come in for 5 days until they turn bitter. Had no idea. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

If hosting a monthly Chinese Poker party, you want the nut tray available for those who can't wait for the Crock Pot goodies to be served. You are not particularly concerned about trace dietary micronutrients that might make one item more healthy than the other. Those with chronic illnesses would select on nutrient content and variety. |
