Take the number of registered voters (146 million) over the number of Americans (318 million) you get 46%, that's the electorate (assuming every single one of them votes, which they usually don't). Of that, Trump has 43% support, that brings us to 19.7% of Americans, that's his base. Of them, half are deplorables which gives us our final number: 9.87%
At most, she called 10% of Americans racists. Honestly, that sounds like a lowball figure to me.

I think this is going to hurt less, not least because Trump's response isn't as easy to turn into gold. See EB's t-shirt... It's kinda sad and tragic. Some talking heads are speculating that this "gaffe" was done purposefully by the Clinton campaign (the remarks were in the teleprompter, after all).

Hillary apologized for saying "half" were deplorable, but she did not backtrack on the other parts.

And now the media is taking a good hard look at the people in Trump's crowds and the polls showing that most people think Trump is biased against women and minorities....

And then we get this little gem, where Mike Pence refuses to call KKK grand wizard David Duke "deplorable." This is EXACTLY what the Clinton campaign wanted:

This is huge, I was listening to a doctor show
last night and they were flipping out on the
lack of care Hillary is getting. Every one of
them said this was a common test for stroke,
they do it all the time.

You can't rule something out unless you test someone for it. Means absolutely nothing.

Almost any complaint can have multiple causes.

You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Is it possible that Democrats are boycotting Trump-branded hotels, golf courses, and casinos?

Apparently so. The properties that were hardest hit were the Trump SoHo, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago and Trump Taj Mahal, down 17–24% in raw foot traffic this past year as compared to the previous year. That said, many Trump-branded properties have different owners and have licensed the Trump brand, so the economic impact on Mr. Trump himself may be very small in such cases.

It's not a good idea to attach percentages to your insults, because that implies you have basically some kind of scientific basis for your analysis. I think candidates insult part of the electorate all the time.

Also Romney didn't overtly insult the 47%. His comment was private, and it insinuated bad things about them that made it impossible for the GOP to appeal to them.
Hillary was overtly insulting.
