To end a humanitarian crisis. People who are entering the country legally are being held in poor conditions and are being separated by their families. People who are waiting to enter the country are living in even worse conditions. There are not enough judges and lawyers to process them all in a timely fashion. It ends it by sending a clear message that we are not going to provide for people who sneak in. Mexico needs to pay for it as they are the ones letting these caravans pass thru their country and are pushing their own people to the USA. It is not our responsibility to pay judges and lawyers to give express service. Let them apply at home instead of showing up on the doorstep. We have Americans needing help that have to wait. Fix the VA before we spend a nickel more on helping them get in. The President is a fink. |

Also, you may only apply for asylum if you are at a port of entry of the United States. How long will it take to send that clear message? Wall construction should take years. Again, how does it end the emergency humanitarian crisis? Following the philosophy of never asking a question that you don't already know the answer to: it doesn't. The way I expect it will play out: Trump will declare an emergency Congress will pass pretty much what they had already agreed to pass last December Trump signs it Federal judges put a stay on Trump's emergency Trump will wail righteous indignation, and then he won't do anything and it will slowly fade away oh and he'll claim victory for fulfilling a campaign promise, and blame democrats and activist judges for preventing it from being carried out. I guess you did not see the caravan that stormed the border requiring use of tear gas? Here is a more clear message. Record numbers are sneaking in all over Here is a more clear message--I care far more about Americans having to deal with illegal immigration than I do illegal aliens. Why don't they just apply for asylum in Mexico? Could it be they want the welfare and other benefits in the USA? It is not about asylum, it is about wanting freebies in the USA. BUILD THE WALL! Why do you liberals care more about them than our own people and country? If the GOP wants to take the House back in 2020 and otherwise win they had better stand firm. They have zero to lose by not caving. The Democrats are owning this. The President is a fink. |

(He's mistaken, by the way. He thinks kidnappers use blue tape, but Trump had a lengthy career in construction, so he should know that the blue tape is used by painters, not electricians. Blue tape isn't very adhesive, so it's probably not the best tape to use for the purpose of kidnapping someone.) The man is bonkers. |
