Democrats right now could do much worse than to take up free-trade ideals on, and see how many rational Republicans they can draw to their side of the aisle.

You expect too much out of them. They are spending all of their time with the "illegitimate President" and other whining. They are smarter than everyone but not smart enough to stop whining and get started on winning in 20018.

Good for them!!! Keep at, boys and girls!!!

!

2018 is already over. 25 Dem Senators
are up for re election and only 8 Repubs.
The Right could pick up 6 seats or more.
This was the big year in the senate for
the Dems and they blew it big time. Trump
will have both houses for at least 6 years,
probably 8. Obama had them for 2.

Inconsistency is a must for authoritarian rulers.

After the election Golden Boy trump said both that 1) He knew he wouldn't win the election and 2) he never doubted he'd win the election.

Oh, and remember we 1) need stronger voter ID laws to prevent election fraud and 2) there was no election fraud.

IN the final analysis, this is very simple:

The US economy has been growing, modestly, for the past few years. A recession is due, and should take place within the next two years. Bad economic policies and uncertainty in the economy will hasten and prolong any recession.

Historically the party in power fares badly during a recession, even mild ones, often losing seats in the House and Senate.

The best news for Golden Boy Trump would be if we're already in a recession. Figures for the last quarter of 2016 aren't out yet, so we don't know. A recession is defined officially as two consecutive quarters with negative GDP, but people tend to feel the effects long before the figures are known. The worst news for him would be robust GDP growth in the last quarter of 2016.

Depending on the severity and durability of the next recession, Golden Boy might see his popularity slip further downwards. This very mush lowers his chances at reelection, though that's also highly dependent on whom the Democratic Party spits out as a candidate in the verkakte system of primaries and caucuses . One very telling sign, too, is a strong challenge for the nomination from within the orange man's "own" party.

They say the first executive order Trump
signs tomorrow with be about the border.
I hope he calls up the National Guard and
sends 5000 of them to the border. After
Katrina, congress put the Guard in the hands
of the president and he has the ultimate
power to call up the Guard in a time of
national emergency. Which this truly is.

Rachel Maddow says Trump's speech was dark
and foreboding, not uplifting like Obama's was
in 2009. To a Lib it's all about appearance. Obama
can be the worst president in 125 years, but his
intentions were good, and that's what counts.
Flowery rhetoric in an empty suit.

But he wasn't even close to one of the worst.... no one besides you hardcore righties thinks that.

You guys think Donald won in a "landslide." What you think means nothing to anyone.

Sure he was, and he will continue to sink
the longer he's out of office. He failed
miserably on everything.

The majority of respondents in this fox news poll think the country is better off today than before Obama was president.

the poll also shows Obamacare is more popular than Trump.
