No response to my suggestion of Legion (with many of the cast and directors of Fargo). They are up to the penultimate season 1 episode so you will have to watch them on VOD. Eventually most FX series make it to Netflix, but perhaps not for a long time.

I couldn't get into GoT either. Even if you just go with the flow and watch it for the spectacle,I find it unappealing. Mrs Mosca loves it, go figure.

You listed Band of Brothers: wow, no one gave an upvote for that one? It is uniformly excellent. And IMO The Pacific is just as good. They were really two different types of wars. Both draw on true accounts. Obviously they have been turned into narratives, but really, really good ones. My father's college buddy was in the first wave of Marines that landed on Guadalcanal, he didn't have anything bad to say against The Pacific.
