According to the latest census, Nevada has become the fifth state to become MM. White Non-Hispanic population by state (estimate as of July 1, 2016) 22.1% Hawaii 37.7% California 38.1% New Mexico 42.6% Texas 49.9% Nevada 51.5% Maryland 53.4% Georgia 54.9% Florida 55.5% Arizona 55.8% New York 55.8% New Jersey 56.9% Mississippi 59.0% Louisiana 61.2% Alaska 61.3% United States Probably by the 2040 census will the USA become MM. In all 50 states the minority population is growing faster than the WNH population. But in ten states, the WNH population is declining (2010-2016) in absolute terms as well. Connecticut Illinois Maine Michigan New Jersey New Mexico Pennsylvania Rhode Island Vermont West Virginia |

The WNH population is estimated to have increased by 7.4 million from 2010-2016, while the minority population increased by 7.0 million. I changed my summary statement to: In all 50 states the minority population is growing faster than the WNH population. There is no value judgement in this summary. But in ten states, the WNH population is declining (2010-2016) in absolute terms as well. Decline in WNH population Illinois -182,954 Pennsylvania -99,306 Connecticut -80,906 New Jersey -78,949 New Mexico -34,634 West Virginia -27,919 Rhode Island -22,838 Michigan -11,364 Vermont -3,590 Maine -1,005 By 2020 nine states are projected to lose one congressional seat. Illinois Pennsylvania Connecticut West Virginia Rhode Island Michigan New York Wisconsin Alabama Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, and North Carolina are projected to gain one seat. Florida is projected to gain two seats, and Texas three. |

I don't think so. I am willing to bet if you ask someone which of these 14 states is minority-majority most people will think they all are. In fact only five of them are MM, but all 14 are skewed below the national average. Alaska may confuse some people as they don't think in terms of native Americans. White Non-Hispanic population by state (estimate as of July 1, 2016) 22.1% Hawaii 37.7% California 38.1% New Mexico 42.6% Texas 49.9% Nevada 51.5% Maryland 53.4% Georgia 54.9% Florida 55.5% Arizona 55.8% New York 55.8% New Jersey 56.9% Mississippi 59.0% Louisiana 61.2% Alaska 61.3% United States |

The lamestream media was goo-goo a few years back when white births fell below 50% of births for the first time. They go goo-goo pretty much any time some news of white demographic decline happens. They have done this all my life, no reason they will stop now. The fact that Nevada's minority population just passed 50% is probably not big news, because most people assume that happened a long time ago. The President is a fink. |

All I was saying was that if you give that list of 14 states to your average person and ask them which ones have "white-non Hispanic" population in the minority, most people will say all of them except possibly Alaska. I think a lot of people don't have any idea who lives in Alaska. In reality only five states a minority-majority and Nevada just joined the club this year. |

Mostly Eskimos and native Indians or Eskimo ancestry and Native Indian ancestry with some white people? Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | It does occur to me that of the five states with minority majority, that they are all conquered territory. Hawaii has an predominately Asian, Polynesian population, and four states that USA took in the Texas Revolution and the Mexican American war. The four states with over 30% African American population are Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana It may be a more newsworthy event when some of the original 13 colonies become minority majority.
