My bro in law has been at the
local airport since 9 am and
as of 8 pm there are thousands
there, he thinks. Starts at 10:30.
I'll watch it live, I hate crowds.

Scary for me to admit, but had the Dems picked Bernie or Elizabeth Warren as the nominee, based on the results of the down ballot races in the swing states, Donny would most likely have won a second term.

“Potted Plant” Biden was absolutely the right choice.

The people I know were either voting for Trump or against Trump, it didn't matter the name in the other column.

.
(Nearly) just as many people voting against the socialist Democrats. There must have been millions of people cringing as they voted for Trump.

Socialist? Have you seen Biden's record? He is so centrist that he could cosplay as a Republican.

One reason I like him (even though he is far from my first choice), is that he is "right" on issues such as crime and foreign policy. He could very well be classified as a Neocon in many respects (strong on crime and foreign issues, progressive on social issues). However, on the economy and healthcare he is about as centrist as they come....

Not disagreeing about Biden himself. My point is about the Democrat party as a whole. We just elected a VP who is 100% for nationalizing our health care system. We elected a VP who is for giving our tax dollars to descendants of slaves. Certain states have elected avowed socialists (Sanders, Ocasio- Cortez). I’ve posted this somewhere.... Biden will be good if Repubs win Senate. He will be able to get things done as his far left pressures will be tamped. If Georgia Senate goes both Dem, I think Biden will be crushed by the left side of his party. Hopefully we will never find out.

If the Republicans had the guts to have an actual primary process to pick their candidate, rather than automatically going with the incumbent, I think whoever they picked who wasn't trump would have won easily.

Trump is so disliked, he motivated more unlikely voters to go out and vote against him, net negative for him over firing up his base, and many normally reliable republican voters either withheld their vote for president or voted for someone else (still not biden)

Haha, you just lost all credibility. (Actually you didn't have much credibility to begin with)

You could have avoided embarrassing yourself by doing a 2 second google search for "republican primary 2020"

Because this is the very first result:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries

So no, they didn't "automatically" go with the incumbent. There was a primary process, and Trump ran against Bill Weld and some other candidates, which you were too lazy to look up. 🙄

In February 2019, the Republican National Committee voted to provide undivided support to Trump. Several states canceled their primaries and caucuses. Other states were encouraged to use "winner-takes-all" or "winner-takes-most" systems to award delegates instead of using proportional allocation.
