Ditto.

Given my frugal nature it sometimes seems I've got more money than god can count.

Work diligently, save, invest, retire: ka-ching, hello, Easy Street!

How old are you? When do you intend to retire?

My goal was to retire at 47 because my father retired at 48. I did not make it.

Let's just say I'm a baby boomer.

I stopped working in part because of covid; it forced unfamiliar changes in the way we do business and I didn't want to adapt.

There was some fear that I'd be like millions of other swinging dicks, guys who retire, hate it, and have a heart attack or stroke, but so far I really enjoy not having to work.

Doing a lot of reading, yard work, exercise, posting (duh), and catching up on on overdue medical stuff.

Hope to travel now that things are opening up.

Looks like a tax refund on unemployment benefits from last year
Yippee
I love free unexpected money
This and my SSA monthly, govt treating me well

So you retired, sold your FL real estate a year ago
Great timing by the way as FL real estate is up 20-30% since then
Bought a depreciating asset to roll around the country
Didn't lose a job as a result of Covid & applied for unemployment benefits?

You are welcome on the GLXZ..... for now! I too 'am making' more than I am spending. But I want to change that sentence.... "I too HAVE MADE more than I have spent" since I have retired.

please also correct to "Stock market HAS GONE up" from 'stock market going up'.

Being happy the market has soared during the beginning of your retirement is different than EXPECTING it to continue soaring!

Apparently i am going to spend two nights in an RV in November. We are driving down to Florida and will be staying with wife's sister on the way (North Carolina) who has too many pets to stay in their house due to wife's allergies. I think it is a real big one. Two 'bedrooms' and two bathrooms I think. I am interested to see what I think about it. I can't imagine my wife liking it much.

Driving from New York to Florida sounds miserable to me. Why not just fly to NC and get a hotel and then fly to Florida?

Because we are taking a dog that is too ornery to bring on a plane. And we will need a car in Florida. If we were flying it would be direct to Orlando. The stop at sister in law is around where we would have stopped had she not lived there.

My wife and I have added the Melbourne Florida area to our search for places to live. It looks very nice and affordable to me. I like that there are lots of tech jobs there for the Space and Defense industries.

You probably could have dropped a request in one of those odd job requests sites and found someone already driving down to Florida and given him $30 to take the dog.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?
