I believe that, the media has complete control of our everyday lives now. I haven't seen the series and probably wouldn't watch it anyway but I am glad people are enjoying it.

One of the most incredible episodes in the series

The Toyota Corolla began selling in North America in March 1968 at about US$1,700.
North American market engines:

My parents had a pale yellow 69 Corolla which I drove a dozen times or so when it was already pretty old. Its defective brakes saved me from hitting a car. I hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting a car and it pulled to right so much I swerved around the car. If you drove it too long in hot weather at highway speed it would overheat. It also had a nice little trick where if you accelerated hard, and let off, it would backfire. Nice if you wanted to annoy the person behind you.

Of course I did drive it when it was already old. They liked it enough they upgraded and bought a Corona.

Wow, I don't ever remember hearing of the Toyota Corona. I just Googled it and it did exist until 2001.

I suppose it was actually beige. Because that is the color. Seems like the front end was more sloped, but I could be misremembering.

Toyopet Crown: America’s first Japanese car

Toyopet exported cars to the US from 1957-1961 after which they withdrew from the American market having met little success. they returned in 1964 under the name Toyota. Toyotapet sold Crowns and Coronas.
The corolla was introduced in 1966, and became the best-selling car worldwide by 1974.

As of 2021 it was still the best selling vehicle in the world, but in the US it has dropped considerably, not just to Pickup trucks but even among Toyota models.
The Corolla should be passed this year as Tesla considers the Model 3 sedan and the Model Y compact SUV to be one model.

    LEXUS division
  12. 26,795 RX

TMNA has 25 % of sales as a hybrid. Sales of hybrids were boosted considerably when Sienna and Venza joined Prius as models that are "hybrid only". The remodeled Toyota Sequoia SUV for 2023 model year (over $50,000) will be the next "hybrid only" vehicle, but sales are not going to be staggering considering the high purchase price.

Toyota has announced that Lexus will become Battery Electric Vehicle by 2035, but Toyota sells more Highlanders than all Lexus models combined.
