| Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | Vehicles have right of way over hot embers but it seems that sometimes tires get so hot that they burn and gas tanks get so hot they explode. Not a situation to have the needle near "Empty" and perhaps a good time to know of back road shortcuts. I've heard that swimming pools or lakes are not a good idea because the fire storm will take the oxygen out of the air, so without scuba gear the water keeps you from burning but not from dying. |

Not sure I would've have done what that driver did in above video. Even though fire was burning around him, some of that area looked like it had already seen the worst of it. I might just sit there in the mostly burned area and wait for awhile. Of course, sitting in one spot, and feeling like I was roasting like a goose the whole time might change my mind.
