The only Moore movie I really liked was GI Jane.
But it had Viggo Mortenson in it, and he's good
in everything. Especially LOTR. I think Norton is
a good actor, but I'm not crazy about the parts
he takes. Go figure. I also hear he's a giant prick.

I saw him is the great flick Primal Fear recently.
He was good, but he seems to play that same
weasely type character a lot. Maybe that's how
he is in real life.

Trivia: Viggo Mortenson was once married to Exene Cervenka, lead singer of the LA punk band X.

There is an interesting comparison between a male and female actor.

Can the two ever really be compared?
Consider an actor's B&W 8by10 glossy. You surely don't expect them to be similar. Females circulate ever changing glamor shots and change their photos every six weeks. Males just circulate a photo thats a bit better than their driver license and update it every six years.
Consider your original post in this thread its not a shot you would use for Edward Norton or any other male actor.

Demi Moore? What do I set the VCR to in order to get quickly to the first nude scene? There are different movies but they all feature Demi Moore.

Edward Norton? Who? Oh, you mean "The Worm" and the traitor in the Italian Job were the same actor. I never noticed that.

He is known to be a control freak. He wants lines rewritten, stories altered, and he often won't listen to the director. Sometimes it is not clear if he is worried about the business aspect of the movie.

Ed Norton doesn't care much about playing likeable characters. One of my favorite characters is Sheldon Mopes, in "Death to Smoochy" which is an offbeat black comedy about children's television. R rated black comedies seldom work, and that movie cost $50m to make, and returned $8.36 million at the box office with no foreign sales. Note that I said "R rated black comedies" and not "R rated vulgar comedies".

Do black comedies ever do well? I recall seeing parts of "Death Becomes Her" and feeling thoroughly disgusted.

I think in this day and age with our population as PC as it is that few black comedies will work at all. People just don't get them.

They are usually extremely unpopular. Here is the list from boxofficemojo, but I wouldn't call Horrible Bosses a black comedy myself. I would call the War of the roses, Cable Guy , Death Becomes Her, and Throw Momma. dark comedies.

$117 Horrible Bosses
$86 The War of the Roses
$71 Ruthless People
$63 The Witches of Eastwick
$62 A Fish Called Wanda
$60 Burn After Reading
$60 The Cable Guy
$60 Bad Santa
$59 The Stepford Wives
$58 Death Becomes Her
$57 Throw Momma From the Train
$42 Death at a Funeral (2010)
$39 The Ladykillers
$38 Little Shop of Horrors
$37 Mars Attacks!
$36 The 'Burbs
$34 Addicted to Love
$28 Grosse Pointe Blank
$27 The Big Hit
$25 Nurse Betty
$24 Fargo
$24 Observe and Report
$22 Being John Malkovich
$22 Raising Arizona
$21 The Player
$21 To Die For
$17 Punch-Drunk Love
$17 The Big Lebowski
$16 I Love You to Death
$15 Drowning Mona
