Its sick and sad what happenned to the American photographer.
That said.
the ranson was absurd.
They demanded a 100 million Euro from his family.
100 million Euro from a family, is so absurd. The photographer is not part of the family that owns Walmart.
Who is running ISIS, Dr Evil???
Why not ask for 60 billion double dollars, thats the bounty for Vash the Stampede (anime Trigun), makes just as much sense.

He did. He didn't say that terrorism was over though.... he just decided to stop fighting it as a global thing like Bush did. Shrug. Empty statements from Obama really.

Look folks, Al Quaida makes its money from kidnappings.

Countries that don't pay get their citizens killed.

Countries that do pay go through these various rules about "can't say ransom" or "must say expenses" or must say 'humanitarian aid'

Initial demans are always outrageously high but final demands wind up at around 72 million dollars for French or Germans.

Even those yachtsman taken off Somalia were directed in negotiations by top al quiaida leaders, it was not the local rabble who had taken them that had any role in the negotiations.

The initial seizure of tourists in Algeria was a comical event with no planning no transport no skills at driving.
Now all the kidnappings have language translators, cached vehicles and gasoline, GPS equipment for buried vehicles, and satellite phones for instructions from top level commanders. Its big business.

Some hide behind the smokescreen that Christians did some really bad things at different points in history. There is no denying it--they did. Why it is used by some to carefully provide almost an "excuse" for the actions of Muslim Terrorists (as opposed to Muslims who are not terrorists), it is just plain worthless gobblygook. If some Christians were doing today what some Muslims are doing--executing people for what everyone agrees are ridiculous reasons and without fair trials even if they have a reason worth two cents--people would rightfully be up in arms.

Christians aren't doing it. Muslims are. They may not represent all Muslims; they may not even be a decent percentage of them, but the are Muslim Terrorist. We can't use language to minimize their sick way of life--like calling what happened to the journalist an "execution"...we have to call it what it is. It was a brutal, premeditated murder. Nothing less than that. Since we don't tolerate murder but we do tolerate executions, can you see how the softness of language makes it sound just a little less horrid than it is?

Wake up. These people aren't the JV. Maybe they were; maybe our intelligence was poor and we got the wrong impression. Fine--mistakes happen. Continuing, however, to ignore the reality that THEY DON'T LIKE ANYONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO LIVE IN THEIR SICK WORLD is just plain stupidity. Thinking that we are exempt from the WE WILL KILL YOU IF YOU AREN'T LIKE US mentality is ignorance. Thinking that we can just isolate ourselves from them in a country that can't control the borders and/or the people who come in after they get here is unforgivable.

We need to make war with these folks where they are now and make it clear to them that there is no pain like the pain we plan to put on them if they dare try to attack us in any way. We need to bomb their asses back to the stone age from whence they came. We need resources on the ground and in the air making life uncomfortable for them. We need to make sure they don't get free reign to expand their network of terror. They always say that it takes two to fight but that is really untrue in this case--they are fighting us and our way of life (that is, any way of life that doesn't meet their freaky interpretation of their religion) whether we care to join the battle or not.

Calling them anything but Muslim Terrorists lets other Muslims off the hook for being on one side or the other. They are a faction of Muslims who have a perverted view of the Muslim religion. We need Muslims to understand that and stand with us against them. Again, softening the language makes it easier for Muslims to ignore it and move along. We can't allow anyone to ignore it.

Meanwhile, we occupy our time worrying about whether or not the Redskins should change their name and what Kim and Kanye are doing right now....ignorance is bliss...and deadly...

Perverted viewpoints of Islam are probably no different than perverted viewpoints of Judaism or Christianity.

Are the Catholics in the USA who maintain a constant barrage of "safety legislation" to drive abortion clinics out of business any different than the 'be Moslem or Die' fanatics?

Look at all those who came to France from Morroco and Algeria... they moved into satellite ghetos, taught Arabic, not French, to their children; they didn't become French. Look at the Indians in Canada, Canadian Intelligence traced the phone calls from Canada to those in India who killed the errant daughter who married against family wishes.

When the Barbary Coast states were at war with the USA they never pretended there were any issues, it was pure robbery on the (nautical) highway.

Yes, they are. The are pursuing legal changes to the system. Muslim Terrorists want to kill you. Huge difference.

Not sure I agree "execution" is softening as I've seen it often associated with everything to mob hits and war crimes for a long time. Although often they will say "execution style murder". If I hear the "hostages were executed" I will imagine they were murdered likely in a particular way which usually involves being shot point blank one after another. Although with drug cartels and terrorists an execution might be beheading. But that is commonly spelled out in all the news reports.

Krauthammer made a good point. We have 2000 years
of history that teaches us how to deal with religious
extremists. You can't reason or negotiate with them,
all you can do is wipe them out. It will come to that,
hopefully sooner than later. I hope it doesn't take a
big hit in this country to wake people up.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

These murdering executioners are dispicable. It would seem to me that we could take half the tsa agents that are frisking granny out of the airports and put them on our border. Wtf is going on with all this homeland security bullcrap, listening in on phone calls and all that action but the borders are wide open? Doesn't anyone in charge think that possibly if 57000 kids can walk from south America into Texas only carrying a disease that maybe the borders are a little porous?

If there is some foreign enemy that wants to bring horror to America they can pretty easily come walking in. If they can put a 50 lb. sack of dope over they're shoulder and walk in it could be just as easily something that we dont want.

Do you people feel safer at airports knowing they can frisk old ladies and kids at will or randomly [thank the libs for no racial profiling]. I'm no bad guy but can think of many ways to get through security with a weapon, not to mention ebola or other disease. Can't believe I used the term "libs", but there it is.

Stay awake the guards a fake.
