Let me build you a magnificent house on the cheap, with radon in the basement, formaldehyde in wallboard, asbestos in the ceiling, flammable fabric on the furniture, lead in the paint, cheap wiring, and so forth. We'll build it over a vast expanse of beautiful property over a chemical dump. It will look fantastic at a bargain price.

I don't trust Trump to do what's right when it costs money. Just make things look good, for a great collapse at some future point.

A lot of dumb stupid f***ers didn't believe in pandemics. But the problem is, we have to wait until disasters happen for them to even start to believe. Even then, some are too blockheaded.

Climate change probably won't bring Trump down, but he will get blamed for it eventually in the future.

I always hate bringing up the past, but he obviously missed the posts where a libbie called people "pedophiles" and where another libbie wished death upon specific conservatives.

Bad how? Until the china virus we had 50 year low unemployment. He got us an improvement over NAFTA. Updated trade deal with China. Got us out of that awful climate treaty. Tax cut for most. And liberals should appreciate he raised taxes on the wealthy.

I absolutely positively know you do not believe that this is a "Republican" problem. Are you even remotely saying that the country was prepared on Obama's last day, after 8 years of his rule, for a pandemic like this? You are aware Cuomo had the option to buy lots of ventilators a few years back? That he could have started sanitizing the subways BEFORE this happened? Like most (all?) politicians, it is real easy to look back and say he should have done something different.

These government officials that have to balance a budget (all EXCEPT the feds) have it difficult. And if you are a thoughtful federal government person with a budget (President, Congress), you are pressured into not paying attention to it.

Should we buy 300 million anthrax remedies now? 300 million home water purifiers? 100 million home generators? Bomb shelter for every home? Something for something I haven't thought of yet?

Trump sounds like a doofus. I get that. But it is TDS to think that if Joe Biden was President we'd have been prepared better.....

In many ways the pandemic represents everything wrong with people putting profit above everything. Even starting with the Chinese communists if they failed in the lab and released a deadly virus, it was likely because of short term gain and avoiding costs. And i it was the wet market, it was also short term gain. Let's sell crap, because people will buy it and someone will make money.

Short answer. Trump is not even attempting to do the right things. You can't get there to even fail, if it's not even in your plan.

For instance, he's not failing at climate change, he's not even doing anything.

I compare Trump to a sugar diet, because that's what I see in his policies and what he cares about and what he has eliminated. It's not that we're not being fed something that will make people fat and happy. No, that is true. But it's not good.
