I look at military service the same as any other profession or trade. I don't give it any undo praise or recognition than I give other workers. If people want to go into that business I think it is great, if they don't I understand that too.

That is fine; it is a profession. I have a problem with "chicken hawks" that want the military to solve all of the world's problems but won't even consider service themselves or for their kids.

I agree 100%. I can say first hand people in the Army are no more or less noble than any other organization (it is actually a pretty accurate demographic swath of America, so there are plenty of good and bad people -to vastly overgeneralize-). I personally enjoy my time in the Reserves because it allows me to experience the Army in a very part time fashion while working a regular job and pursuing academic goals. 90% of the Army is doing a regular job, you are just wearing a uniform while doing it.

That being said (and this is not directed at you). There is a certain member here who claims to be super patriotic and then says the Army is for stupid people ..... (And praises people for dodging the draft during Vietnam).....

I praise the U.S. military as a total force, because I believe in the overall mission and role in the world. I don't do it because I am trying to praise myself. I had the same view before I joined, and would have the same view if I was never in (though it does allow you to have a come back when people say that you advocate for heavy intervention, but would never want to participate yourself)....

Hillary is endorsing Biden today.

Wonder when she’s gonna jump in the race? June?? <— that’s a joke if you couldn’t tell

President Obama already endorsed him.

He has critical endorsements from his former opponents as well (something Trump could not get).

Biden is set to be a great President.

Like anyone cares that his party endorses him.

President of what? His local VFW? The guy does not know what planet he is on or what year it is.

A lot of people care, Trump was salty Cruz refused to endorse him for insulting his father (claiming his father killed JFK, pretty Outlandish even by Trump standards)....

Its pretty ironic to praise Trump while claiming Biden is not a good speaker. At least Biden accepts mistakes when he says them (Trump has not done so once as evidenced by earlier in the thread...)

I cannot remember ever meeting someone who said they were voting for someone because of an endorsement. A Democrat endorsing the nominee of the Democrat Party for POTUS is meaningless.

A lot of people do.

I am in some Andrew Yang groups. After Yang joined CNN and endorsed Biden, many Yang people were swayed (especially with the cabinet potential). And, many Yang people were Yang or bust before. So if Yang can convince people through his praise and endorsements, it shows the power that can have. Bernie fans tend to be a little more stubborn (one of the reasons Clinton lost) and less willing to vote for others. Endorsements can be powerful, especially if they are made sincerely and convincingly. Yang explained his choice of endorsement based on math which resonated with his audience.

So you are saying people who were going to vote Trump will all of the sudden flip to Hillary? Yang supporters would fall in line no mater what.

NOTHING is sincere in a Democrat endorsing the presumptive nominee. Zero. They are just putting their resume out there.

If he was running for the PTA, maybe.
Naw, word would get out he likes
to sniff and stroke little girls hair
and he would be tossed out or
arrested.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
