Which I equally don't understand. Not saying it is a uniquely Democrat or Republican problem. For all those on both sides who are worried about disenfranchisement, this is ridiculous.

It’s almost as if the electoral college is a completely ridiculous idea and we should just abandon it completely.

Many agree. But if we decide to keep it, I would be in favor of just awarding the winner of the state its electoral college votes, without actually having real humans as electors.

Both your idea, and mine, I believe would require a constitutional amendment.

The electoral college is vital to our government. Eliminating it is just a dumb idea. I think ending it could well destroy the country because it helps balance the power between our individual states and the federal government.
