They don't? They willingly voted in a guy who promised to go back to the old policies. Just look at the "defund the police" movement. These folks would rather the crime than the cops. Just saw off NYS at the Tappan Zee and keep the money upstate.

I don’t think so. NY is so solidly blue now... the proverbial ‘potted plant’ could beat a reasonable Republican candidate. The possibility of a non-Cuomo Democrat taking him on in the primary and winning before this scandal was essentially zero. Not so now. Ocasio-Cortez says she knows this guy who was a bus boy when she was a bartender, and he would be great! He has the skills to clean up the mess Cuomo will be leaving behind.....

I live here because of my roots here. My friends are mostly here. That being said, I will probably no longer live here for 7 months a year soon.

‘Move or elect someone else’ is possible for some, but not most. You built your small plumbing business, you advanced up the ladder at your local bank, you made it as a chef at a great restaurant, you are the shift manager at your BK, etc... you move and lose a lot. Not saying it is impossible....

I can say in my years there was very little moving to NYS. People got transferred in (me) or moved back after growing up and making their bones somewhere else. People moved upstate to get away from the city or off Long Island. Long Island is a weird, insular place. So hard to get off the island people just don't. Guys stay for businesses, jobs, and wives. Women stay because women generally do not like to relocate. Longer term it is emptying out. You do not get how dead the city economies are until you live somewhere else.
