If I made NOT transmitting Covid my primary goal without actually knowing that I have Covid to begin with, then my only option would be to never leave the house. Why should I not be the one to leave the house? I'm not the one who's worried about it.

Probably what Typhoid Mary said.

How many times in the US did health officials in the US say you couldn't leave your house to keep from spreading it? I don't even think they restricted New Yorkers that much in the early days. Maybe they had curfew after a point. But you have to do that in war time. How many people died in wars?

People were urged to "sheleter in place."

Public gatherings were prohibited, private gatherings were strictly limited.

Masks and social distancing were required.

Most businesses were shuttered.

So yeah, people were "strongly encouraged" to stay home and minimize contact with others.

What are you talking about? At the state level, non-essential businesses were closed completely, based on some mostly arbitrary opinion of what was or wasn't considered essential. Restaurants were closed completely for a time, then carry-out only, then open, then carry-out only again. There was some talk of masks being required anywhere in public, including outdoors, but I don't think that part ever ended up happening. They closed the salons, hair stylists and places of that nature. They completely restricted any notion of people freely associating at their own risk.

They even closed the liquor stores at one point, but pulled back on that, because it was just causing people to go out of state instead---which, for some capricious reason, they REALLY didn't want. As if there's more Covid magically by virtue of the fact that one has crossed state lines. Laughable.

Technically, indoor private gatherings were restricted---by the letter of the mandate, but enforcement was impractical, of course.

I mean, they literally put police tape all around the park closest to me---and I want to say a few others. They took down the basketball rims at the parks!

So, maybe they didn't literally say you couldn't leave your house, but they were going to make any notion of leaving as unattractive as possible.

On a bet, you want to try the difference between that and actually never leaving home for a couple months as Mission says?

At what point did I say that you weren't allowed to leave whatsoever? If you're going to gratuitously misrepresent my positions, just say so, and I'll immediately concede the argument.

Just to eliminate many older people. Coronovirus killed 120,000 people UNDER 65. Only 60,000 Americans died in Vietnam.

Those are all Americans, btw.

Update. The woman in my wife's van that was
vaxxed and got covid that I reported was off
the respirator is back on it again. I'm very
low on the fam update info chain so I'm
always the last to know what's going on.
I believe she had the Astra Zenica vaccine.
I take this to mean she is using supplemental oxygen, not intubated?

I know a guy that delivers oxygen for Lincare, he said everyone that that has stayed in the local hospital from Covid goes home with an oxygen machine, so they are running short. That and we are having a large influx of old people coming from California, many of them need supplemental.

It's right up there in the quote I quoted from you. You used, "never"

Let's just apply the theme. Do you have a right to endanger someone's health besides your own? Let's say you put a banana peel purposely on the sidewalk knowing that there's 1 in a 1000 chance that the person will slip and fall?

Do you have the right or not? You have the ability certainly, but do you have the right to endanger someone else's health?
At last I read, it is legal in California to have unprotected intercourse while knowingly having HIV, and not inform the other person. So without me diving in, I will assume it is also legal in other states.
