India's Ministry of Health published guidance on April 28th, that says patients with mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 infections should consider taking ivermectin once a day for three to five days. Caregivers and "all close contacts" of patients eligible for home isolation "should take hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis as per protocol and as prescribed by the treating medical officer.

I don't what they were taking when cases surged to 400,000 a day, but it wasn't working.

Wasn't working? The guidance was issued April 28th. New cases peaked at 426,000 a week later, on May 6th, then plummeted 80% in only thirty days. Daily deaths fell 50% within thirty days after the guidance was issued.
