No, but only US citizens can declare themselves as such when getting a DL or ID or SSN. With evidence of citizenship and identity. My parents had to on my behalf when they first got my SSN when I was 10. I had to when I first got my learner's permit and then DL, and later when I got a replacement SS card, as well as when I got my Real ID DL. So most states and DC that issues DLs notes whether the DL or ID holder is a citizen or not. The master SS database notes whether the SSN holder is a citizen or not. |
