The perception that he was looking at his watch is more important than what he was actually doing. Why? Most people get their news in snippets and are not going to learn about every single thing President Biden does and for what reason. I am as sorry as can be for the losses in his life; they have been horrible. Everyone who has experienced traumatic losses gets that. The statements from some of the parents bother me more; telling folks that he talked more about Beau than about their lost loved ones. In that moment, they wanted to talk about their loss.

The perception that someone is telling him what to do. The perception that he was more interested in the time than what was going on around him in that moment. The perception that he was more concerned about Beau in that moment than their lost loved ones. The perception that he lied about getting everyone out.

Perhaps you can explain them all away; it doesn't change the fact that many will hold those perceptions at least for a little while.
