Well, for one thing, you are not even a real American, so it would not effect you (its safe to assume your vehicles are registered in Canada), so I don't know why you are so worked up about something that would not have a bearing on your life. But, yes most restrictive of course, because in the U.S. any vehicle can travel to any State, so even if you live rurally, there is a risk that you can bring your vehicle into a City or a residential area. So even States that break it down by County have a faulty system. I have no desire to change the system in Canada (nor do I know anything about it). Now vehicles that are used to cross the border are an interesting subject, but I don't think there is a realistic answer to this, unless some kind of border emission testing station is set up. |

Are you going to get rid of your car? Are you going to never go on a vacation again? Are you going to move to a studio apartment? IOW, are YOU going to lead by example? Or are you just going to keep saying "WE need to do something!"?? In 1973 we were going to have run out of oil by now. Since then we have used every drop in the world known to exist then yet we have more proven reserves than we did then. The free market finds a way, always. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Yes, I am going to vote and support people who are running for positions with positive views. This is the most crucial thing. I live a pretty energy efficient life, but I am not going to virtue signal and list off everything that I do. And, I am certainly far from perfect. But, what matters more is getting people into power who can make nationwide changes. I don't have the ability to authorize new nuclear power plants in my state for example, but I can support those that have that position and are running for State positions (and there actually are more in the works). This is the critical move that more states need to make, but can mostly be affected locally (IE States that have effectively banned new construction -which ironically tend to be more "liberal" states-). If we get most power from nuclear plants, and most vehicles switched to electric, this will be huge for emissions. |

You don't need to justify your personal commitment to Duffman, because the principal goal is universal commitment applying to all of us. We're not going to apply impossible draconian standards. I think it's better to apply across the board standards and if some can justify an exemption then they should be able to apply for it on a case-by-case basis. "Home Report Foreign-Born Population Hit Record 47 Million in April 2022 Foreign-Born Population Hit Record 47 Million in April 2022 Increased two million since January 2021, driven largely by illegal immigration FacebookTwitterRedditLinkedInEmailCopy LinkPrint By Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler on June 1, 2022 1/7 of the us population was foreign born in April 2022. This includes all the immigrants for the last 100 years that are still alive. Give your head a shake on the population doubling with the birth rate falling. The birth rate falling includes most of the babies born to the 47 million immigrants. Even if the US has 4 million immigrants in 2022 that is 90 years to double the population. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

Bill Gates is a billionaire who admits he's a climate activist who flies in private jets. But he also said he spends 7 million a year on carbon offsets through a company that runs a facility that removes carbon dioxide from the air. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

You just keep showing your lack of understanding of the world today Gandler. You must try harder to keep up with the changes. If and old fart like me can keep up with the changes you should be able to. "China is the largest consumer of primary energy in the world, using some 145.46 exajoules in 2020. This is far more than was consumed by the United States, which ranks second.Jun 21, 2022" "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

We have been through this, its population scaling (per capita). That is like saying "California uses way more energy than North Dakota," (in an effort to make California look like bad liberals), while technically true, completely irrelevant (California is larger than many countries and like three people live in North Dakota). We (Americans) have a high energy lifestyle. Which is not an inherently bad thing, but it means that we need to transition to more sustainable energy. |

Carbon offsets are nonsense and a scam. If these people actually cared they would fly commercial and still buy the offsets if it makes them feel better. Offsets are kind of like the old days of the church where you could pay an indulgence so you would be allowed to sin. I am not about to believe global warming is a problem when all the people who say they care fly private jets and have their drivers idle their SUVs so the A/C keeps them cool. War is peace.
