kinna amusing - Nikki Haley finished 2nd in the Nevada primary - Trump was not on the ballot

the winner - "None of these Candidates"

if she doesn't show up strong in her home state S.C. - the next primary - she's toast

Not really amusing; just count the number of "None" as Trump's voters and look at the margin of victory.

She'll go on until the money dries up; I don't think staying in is politically great but she is committed (at least as long as there is money) so far to staying in as long as she can.

There is a charge of insurrection?

There is a conviction of insurrection?

Was there an impeachment conviction of insurrection?

It is a great word but I really do think if someone could make a case that would lead to a conviction, they would charge him.

Will you accept a 7-2, 8-1, or 9-0 decision that leaves him on the ballot?

He, as Mission posits and as I have seen mentioned before in articles, could be ruled against now since the primary elections are more of a State and party issue and then have to go back to court if they try to keep him off the ballot in November. Maybe they can even say that he can be left off now but must be placed on the November ballot should he be the nominee.

So what standard of evidence is necessary to DQ someone due to Section 3? Conviction that withstands appeal, which is proof beyond a reasonable doubt? Clear and convicting evidence? Preponderance of the evidence? Substantial evidence? And who gets to decide? A judge? A jury? The Sec of State of the state in question?

Is Sect 3 self-executing or does it require an Act of Congress for enforcement? If so, do the other sections of the 14th Amendment require an Act of Congress? For example, did Congress need to pass a law to enforce Section1? If so, what's to prevent a far-right Congress from repealing all laws relating to Section 1 or the 14th Amendment altogether, thereby making the civil rights protected by the 14th Amendment unenforcable?

So far, I think SCOTUS majority is not going to rule favorably in Colorado action. At least up to point I listened to them. Of course, most pundits never predicted a slam dunk on this one anyway.

Yeah. Performance-wise, I was impressed with Trump's lawyer and the lawyer for the CO Sec of State. I was not impressed with the lawyer representing the anti-Trump side.

Why? What would another January 6th mob do? Loiter about for a few hours and leave again?

They'd more likely to invade the building and grounds with tactical gear and zip ties with nefarious intent, obstruct official proceedings, assault police officers and others with dangerous or deadly weapons as well as engage in seditious conspiracy.

I suppose; it's also possible that the second time is a charm. It becomes difficult to take January 6th all that seriously when it was such a hopelessly disorganized 'effort' carried out by complete idiots.

It was serious enough to result in hundreds of convictions and guilty pleas, and place the lives of the Senators, Representatives and the Vice President in jeopardy.
