| Gandler Member since: Aug 15, 2019 Threads: 30 Posts: 5256 | I thought about this more today, and the Democrats are either brilliant or extremely lucky. By Biden dropping out after the RNC, their ticket is already locked in, and they have all of their anti-Biden infrastructure in place. And, since the DNC has not occurred yet, the Democrat candidate and VP can be anyone (yes Harris seems likely, but anything can happen.) Now, all of the massive amounts of anti-Biden billboards everywhere, probably thousands of hours of anti-Biden TV adverts are redundant, and they have to start from scratch. Now the Democrats also have to start from scratch, but in confrontational elections this is a plus, only so much bad stuff can come out in the next 3-4 months. And, new candidates always get a rush of enthusiasm. Trump has been banging the same drum with the same talking points for the last 4 years, people will be far more excited with a new candidate. I have certainty that the Democrat candidate will win the popular vote, and has a very strong chance to win the election. Whether this was planned or dumb luck, the timing is perfection, this is a massive boost to the democrats. And, if they planned this after trolling Trump and maggas with Biden insisting he would run for the last 12 months, that is next level brilliance. The more I think about this, this may be the most happy that I have been with a DNC decision in a long time. |

Extremely lucky. If the Dem convention was first, Joe would've dropped out earlier, all else being equal. Of note that even if though the GOP ticket is set, the deadlines set by each individual state to submit candidates isn't closed yet, so the ticket can change for Donny/JD. But, I hear you. There's minimal the GOp can do ticket-wise to counter Joe dropping out. |

She ran for President. Doesn't get more public then that Haley voters for Harris does not equal Haley for Harris Of course Haley is such an intellectual lightweight, she can't see the difference Don't need a Lionel to determine the true intellectual lightweights such as her and Mike (I don't know how nominations work) Johnson Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

| SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 5742 | Apparently Cornell West may get on the ballot as a spoiler, clearly hurting Harris against Trump. In the battleground states, pulling even just 1% of the vote from a specific candidate, in this case Harris, could determine the election. I’m sure abject loser Cornell West hates Trump more than Harris. Just stupid. |

Civil rights activist, theologian and philosopher. Was a Harvard professor. Then got pissed at Harvard for some reason then went to Princeton. Then he got pissed at Obama for not giving him front row seats to the inauguration in 2008. An occasional actor, had a small part in the first two Matrix sequels. At least, that what I know him for. Always seems to have an ax to grind. Recently, a political gadfly. To my knowledge, not related to Ye. |

Wasn't he the lead singer for Soundgarden? At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |
