The documents case he made a mess of, is stupidly the worse self-inflicted nonsense I can think of a high ranking politician getting himself into for no fathomable reason that makes any sense.

He took what would have been a routine end of presidency requirement of returning documents in a couple months and ended up in a Federal Court .
